Every year GAIL DAV Public School observes the communal harmony week to conceptualize the concept of communal harmony in an effective way Throughout the week children are seized by an enthusiastic fervour to contribute for a noble cause .The stickers of communal harmony are deemed as a prized possession by the students. Besides an array of activities like debates, speeches, essay writing competitions are organized. This strengthens the vision of Vaisudev Kutumbakam and teaches the children to empathize with others thereby endorsing the commitment of an ethical community to serve mankind in an unbaised way. The funds raised during this week are sent to NCHF for addressing the colossal challenges that the society is faced with. This infuses a feeling of playing a humble role in the task of social upliftment.
 

Transcending the realm of knowledge acquisition ,GAIL DAV Public school has endeavoured to inculcate the value of respecting life and a genuine concern for the elderly . It has made a grand contribution to Helpage India and has earned the appreciation from the same acknowledging its efforts. The whole school demonstrated an enthusiastic interest and the innocent entreaties of the students generated an emotively compelling atmosphere for the people around to rise to the call for the elderly and prove that they too are an important segment of the society. The representatives from Helpage India came in person to express their thanks for the overwhelming response. The young generation was enthused with a wonderful sentiment that it is their turn to serve the elderly and prove their love and affection for them in the most befitting manner.The changing family texture should be revitalized by re-evaluating our moral accountability for the elderly generation who gave their best to ensure our present status.The prevalent culture of Old Age Homes must be discouraged and curbed .
